For Assembly:
- 9 lasagna noodles cooked
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
Make the Meat Sauce:
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until browned. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar. Simmer for 15 minutes.
Mix the Cheese Layer:
- In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, Parmesan, and parsley. Mix until smooth.
Assemble the Lasagna:
- In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer:
- 1 cup meat sauce
- 3 noodles
- Half the ricotta mixture
- 1 cup mozzarella
- Repeat, ending with sauce and mozzarella on top.
Bake:
- Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake 15–20 minutes longer, until bubbly and golden.
